Hi,I'm trying use Amplitube 3 as a realtime VST effect, like a guitar pedalboard, and do some guitar recording using Music Creator 6. Now you might say that this is an Amplitube-specific question and belongs in another forum, but if you just replace my reference to Amplitube with any random third-party VST audio effect, the question is just as valid. With the VST in the FX box for the track I am recording, the signal I hear is my preferred tone - and that which I would like to have land as the 'dry' track, and then apply further mixing and effects processing from there as needed. But the recorded track is actually just the dry input from the guitar interface. Is there any way I can get MC6 to insert VST effect straight off of the guitar interface as a fixed part of the input signal?Tried using Sends/Buses from the input track that has the VST signal, but I haven't had any success. I'm probably missing something simple here and over-complicating absolutely everything.TL:DR: I just want a way to turn a wet track into a dry track. If I understand you correctly, you want the guitar track dry, and you want the flexibility of recording the effected audio separately? This is what 'Sends' are for. Click the '+' next to Sends and in the drop down select new Stereo Bus and name it Guitar FX Bus. The dry audio from the guitar track will now be sent to the Bus track.
To control the Send level use the Level knob. There is a 'Post' button. By default, the Send level is 'Pre fader' which means the input to the dry guitar track is sent to the Bus and the volume is unaffected by the fader on the dry guitar track.
If you enable 'Post' then the Send level (volume) is adjusted by the fader position before being affected by the Send Level setting before being sent to the FX bus track. The FX bus track output should go to Master by default. Now you can add an FX plugin to the Bus track.
Set the output of the plugin to full wet, and then use the fader to adjust how much of the FX goes to Master. You can have as many tracks as you like Send to a given Bus. So you could setup your favorite reverb and assign all of your tracks to that bus and control the overall volume of reverb in the mix that way. I have a different understanding of what you want to the other poster. Here's some options:A: To 'Record' the VST onto the track as you play - yes you're overcomplicating it, but here goes: Right click in track header of the guitar track channel. You should have an option 'Create new send new Aux' (Or similar - I'm not in the studio). Now arm the new AUX channel with record, and go ahead and record as per normal. The Aux track will have recorded the VST and the guitar FX.B: Record the way you have and then 'Bounce' the track downC: Hit the little. icon and 'Freeze' the trackYou haven't really well-communicated what you're trying to achieve, so I figure ElGuaco and I are both guessing a bit at what you want.
